Stock and options: what you need to know

Some options are limited (VIP seats, time slots). Here is how to track stock per option.

Quantity options and stock

Quantity options let customers order multiple units. When inventory is enabled on the product, the chosen quantity impacts available stock. Each unit ordered decrements the counter.

Per-option stock tracking

You can set limited stock for a specific option, independently from the main product. Example: an event with 100 Standard seats and 20 VIP seats — each tier has its own stock counter.

Enabling tracking

In the option editor, enable inventory management and set the available quantity. When a customer buys with this option, stock decrements automatically. At zero, the option shows as unavailable at checkout.

Options without stock impact

Toggle (yes/no) and select (simple choice) options do not affect stock by default. They customize the order without quantity limits. A complementary service or text customization has no stock to manage.

Best practices

Enable stock tracking only on options tied to limited resources. Monitor levels regularly, especially before peak periods. PayFacile does not block overselling if you haven’t configured limits — make sure to enable it when the limit matters.
