Download security

Protect your digital files on PayFacile: link expiration, required authentication, and security settings.

Where to find security settings

Digital product security settings are found under Settings → Options, in the Digital Products section. You’ll find two main controls: download link expiration and required authentication.

These settings apply to all your digital products globally. They take effect starting from the next purchase.

Each download link sent to your customers has a validity period. You can choose from:

  • 24 hours
  • 48 hours (default)
  • 72 hours
  • 7 days
  • 30 days

Once the link expires, the customer can no longer download via that link. However, they can access their files through their customer portal or request a resend from you.

Require authentication

When this option is enabled, the customer must be logged into their customer portal to download their files. Links sent by email still work thanks to a secure token, but any direct access without authentication is blocked.

This option is especially recommended for high-value content (premium courses, software, exclusive resources) to prevent unauthorized link sharing.

Secure file storage

All digital files are stored on Amazon S3 with secure access. Download URLs are temporary signed links: they only work for the configured duration and cannot be guessed or shared indefinitely.

FAQ

Do the settings apply to existing orders?
The settings apply to newly generated links. Previously sent links retain their original configuration until they expire.
Can I have different settings per product?
No. Security settings (expiration and authentication) are global and apply to all your digital products the same way.
