Sell digital files

A digital product is a file your customers purchase and download online: ebook, template, music, video course, photo preset, PDF document, ZIP archive. On PayFacile, you create a product with the Digital product type and attach one or more files. The customer pays once and immediately receives a download link.

It’s the ideal solution to monetize your expertise with zero logistics: no inventory, no shipping, no delivery delays.

When creating or editing a digital product, you’ll find a Digital product block in the editor. Click Add a file to select a file from your computer. The file is uploaded to PayFacile’s secure servers (Amazon S3). You can add multiple files to the same product.

Supported formats include: PDF, ZIP, MP3, MP4, images (JPG, PNG, WebP), office documents, and many more. The maximum file size depends on your plan (check your My subscription page for your limit).

As soon as your customer’s payment is confirmed, PayFacile automatically sends an email containing the download link. There’s nothing else for the customer to do—they click the link and download their file.

This link is secure and has a configurable expiration (24h, 48h, 72h, 7 days, or 30 days). You can also require customers to be logged into their portal to download. These settings are found under Settings → Options → Digital Products.

Your customers can also find their files in their customer portal (buyer area). If they lose the email or the link has expired, they can log into their portal to access their downloads again. You can also manually resend a link from the order details page by clicking Actions → Resend download link.
