Add custom questions to checkout
Add custom fields to your PayFacile checkout page: free text, multiple choice, or date picker. Collect the information you need from customers.
What is a custom question?
Custom questions are additional fields that appear on your checkout page, at the customer information step. They let you collect data specific to your business before the customer completes their order.
Common examples: company name, VAT number, t-shirt size, preferred delivery date, special instructions, or any information needed to fulfill the order.
Create a question
To add a custom question:
- Go to Settings → Questions from your dashboard
- Click Add a question
- Enter your question text
- Choose the answer type:
- Text — the customer types a free-form answer
- Multiple choice (MCQ) — the customer selects from a list of predefined answers
- Calendar — the customer picks a date using a date picker
- Set whether the answer is required or optional
- Save
Configuring multiple choice options
If you choose the MCQ (multiple choice) type, you need to define the list of possible answers. Add each option in the provided field. The customer will see a dropdown menu with your options during checkout.
This feature is useful for structured choices: size, color, time slot, coaching plan, etc.
Where to find the answers
Answers to custom questions are saved with the order. To view them:
- Go to Orders from the main menu
- Click on the relevant order
- The answers appear in the order detail section
You can access all information collected at checkout directly from the detail of each order.
