Terms of sale
Set up your terms of sale in PayFacile. Use the AI generator or write them manually. Terms are displayed on your checkout page.
Why are terms of sale required?
Consumer protection laws in most countries require online sellers to provide terms of sale before purchase. Terms of sale govern the commercial relationship: pricing, delivery, refunds, warranties, and disputes.
Not displaying terms of sale exposes you to legal risks and weakens your position in case of customer disputes. PayFacile lets you configure them easily and link them automatically to your checkout page.
Access legal settings
Go to Settings → Legal → Terms of Sale. You will find a text editor to enter or paste your terms.
Use the AI generator
PayFacile offers an AI generator that creates terms of sale tailored to your business. The generator uses your business description and country to produce a customized document.
To use it:
- Click Generate with AI in the Terms of Sale section.
- Make sure your business description is up to date in your settings.
- The generator produces a document covering: purpose, pricing, orders, payment, delivery, refund policy, warranties, liability, personal data, and disputes.
- Review and adapt the text to your specific situation.
Important: the generated text is a starting point. For regulated activities or complex cases, have your terms reviewed by a legal professional.
Write terms manually
If you prefer to write your terms yourself or paste an existing document, the editor accepts free text. Essential elements to include:
- Seller identity (name, address, registration number, VAT number)
- Product or service description
- Pricing and payment methods
- Delivery terms and timelines
- Right of withdrawal (14 days for EU consumers)
- Legal warranty of conformity
- Refund policy
- Mediation and dispute resolution
Display on the checkout page
Once your terms are saved, they are automatically linked to your checkout page. Your customers see a "Terms of Sale" link before completing their purchase.
The customer must accept the terms (checkbox) to proceed with payment. This mechanism protects your business in case of disputes.
